A adopção generalizada pela indústria de tecnologias de informação e comunicação abriu o caminho para abordagens disruptivas no desenvolvimento de produtos, produção e toda a cadeia logística.

Na era da "Indústria 4.0" assistimos ao cruzamento entre inovação, tecnologia e novos processos de fabrico, que são actualmente pilares da competitividade das organizações, regiões e países. Assistimos a um novo paradigma no qual a engenharia moderna e a manufatura dependem de um mix integrado de tecnologias.

A Indústria 4.0 abre novos caminhos às empresas industriais, nomeadamente a integração de necessidades e preferências dos clientes no desenvolvimento de produtos e processos.

Esta “revolução” obriga a um novo foco na preparação de Recursos Humanos muito qualificados e com responsabilidades na redefinição de processos de gestão.

Num modelo totalmente inovador, instituições de ensino e empresas estão reunidas num projeto de formação pioneiro. Através do ensino de competências teórico-práticas, da observação e partilha de casos reais esta Pós-Graduação proporcionará as competências essenciais para criar e gerir empresas preparadas para este novo paradigma e que serão os pilares da estratégia industrial do século XXI.

Presentation

The widespread adoption by the global industry of information and communication technologies have paved the way for disruptive approaches to product development, production and the entire logistics chain. The term "Industry 4.0" refers to a fourth industrial revolution, which succeeded steam, electricity and electronics.

This revolution is centered on the existence of services that fuse digital and physical components, combining the concept of "internet of things "(machines, devices and networked sensors) with the existence of intelligent systems and their growing automation. Intelligent machines continuously share information on current stock levels, problems or failures and changes in orders or levels of demand. Processes and deadlines are coordinated in order to increase efficiency and optimize production times, while improving quality in development, marketing and purchasing.

At the same time, Innovation, technology and new manufacturing processes are currently cornerstones of competitiveness of organizations, regions and countries. It is known that in practice the definition of organizational strategies recognize is a high need to define technology strategies and innovation, which enable companies to develop their dynamic capabilities, ensuring its future survival and growth.

Several countries are now focusing in the use of new and emerging ICT tools and information methodologies and in the creation of manufacturing technologies, processes and systems, in improving manufacturing intelligence, supporting collaboration, increasing efficiency, accelerating innovation, and enabling new business models and technologies.

Industry 4.0 opens a series of great opportunities for industrial companies. It opens new ways for companies to integrate the needs and preferences of their customers in their development and production processes. However, this revolution also requires a greater focus on preparation of human resources (in this case very skilled) and rethink management processes.

In the industrial context of the Portuguese mold-making industry, where organizations are actively engaged in developing a new industrial paradigm, competing among the world's best, and where more and more professionals in the engineering and management areas need to frame their activities, it is vital to deepen the knowledge about the essential management skills for this new paradigm.

Through the teaching of theoretical-practical components and the observation and sharing of real cases (which will be in charge of a faculty of academics and renown professionals recognized internationally) this Graduate Course will provide the essential skills to create and manage companies that will strive in this new paradigm and will be the pillars of the industrial strategy of the 21st century.

Classes in English.

Some Classes will be held in e-learning allowing for students from different countries to participate.

This course is aimed at worldwide students. Special accommodation conditions for foreign students will be available.

Faculty is constituted by Industry and professors form around the world, from the main universities and industrial manufacturing clusters. Students will be able to witness new technologies and processes in loco.
